Long weekend in Toulouse

Friday the 21st of April
Today started out pretty stressfully. I had set an alarm for 7 o'clock and had planned to take the bus to the train station at 7:30 - my train left at 8:20 and that was the only bus that got there on time. I woke up at 7, but fell asleep again at like 7:05 - this happens quite often. I ended up waking up at around 7:40, so the bus was long gone and I was basically out of luck: both of my host parents were in Saint-Martin-de-Crau, as was Norah. But Rémi had stayed back! Thank god for Rémi - I frantically knocked on his door and asked him if he could drive me to the train station and he woke up and was ready 5 minutes later. And the best host brother of the year award goes to...

I took the TGV to Toulouse (4 hours) and once I got there I immediately went to the grocery store, because I was starving - I had only brought carrots and humus with me on the train and hadn't had time for breakfast that morning. I ate my sandwich and apple near the "Capitol…

Pops and Mommy visit!

Thursday the 13th of April
My parents flew out this morning to Lyon, where they were staying for the first night. I got out of school at 11:30, so I took the train to Lyon at 12 to meet up with them! They were waiting for me in their hotel lobby - it was great to see them, I had been anticipating it for like over a month and was very excited to hug them! We chatted in the lobby for a while, but then we went to their hotel room and my pops fell asleep on the bed - he had been in the US about 24hours before, so I don't blame him.

After our little sieste, we decided to walk around Lyon a little and see some sights. Since I had been there the week before with my class, I already knew where we should go, so we took the metro to the city hall. We walked around there for a little bit - we were starting to get a little peckish, so we went to a monoprix and got sandwiches and smoothies. The weather was great, so we ate on the steps of the Musée des Beaux-Arts, across from city hall and in …

First EYP session!

WARNING! This is a very long post. Settle in. Make sure you're comfy. Ok, now start.

Thursday the 29th of March
My journey began today! I left school after my English test at 1:45 and took the bus home. I was super nervous. There was really nothing to be nervous about, but I always find a way. I finished writing a few things for the Eurovillage (Friday night) and I finished packing up all of my stuff. I took a bus to the train station where I took a train to Saint-Martin-de-Crau, where my host grandma graciously let me stay Thursday and Sunday night, because there were no direct trains from Vienne to Aix early enough on Friday. Anyway, I’m not going to go into much detail on what happened on Thursday – so lets talk about the fun stuff!

Friday the 30th of March
I had to wake up at 5:55 this morning. Not ideal for a Friday morning, but I had so much adrenaline that I didn’t even notice how tired I probably was. I took the bus to Aix, and then another one from Aix to Luynes where the…
